The
two most important aspects of a putter are balance and feel. Balance
is easy to achieve; it's both measurable and repeatable. Feel,
on the other hand, is a little tougher to gauge; it's completely
tangible, yet you can't really read it with a machine. Milling
and mixing metal to get that perfect resonance and weight is either
hit or miss. How can you get it right each and every time? Simple,
don't use metal. And thus was born the Louie3 from Louisville
Golf, an innovative putter from their TRUE CENTER line that uses
a Persimmon insert to give it
that elusive feel that is so crucial to accuracy.
The
advantage to using Persimmon over metal is that it has ideal density
and elasticity. Contact with the ball is neither too soft nor
too hard. After hitting a few balls on various green conditions
with the Louie3, I have to agree; the feel is spot on perfect.
It's an especially ideal club for faster greens. Also worth noting
is the Louie3's forgiveness of off center strikes. The combination
of perfect heel/toe balance and the natural resonance of the Persimmon
insert results in little to no club twist if you miss the "sweet
spot". Another bonus is the addition of a stabilizing pin
running through the center of the putter head for additional stability
and durability.
The Louie3
also happens to be an absolutely beautiful club. The rich Persimmon
insert compliments the brass clubhead perfectly, lending to it
a classic elegance. Louisville Golf also offers club personalization
free of charge with the purchase of any of their wooden putters.
The engraving is done in tasteful gold lettering in the bottom
right corner of the insert on the putter's face. It's perfect
for promotional giveaways at company functions, tournament prizes,
or gifts in general.
Bottom
line is, if you're looking for a putter with perfect balance,
excellent feel and is quite easy on the eyes, then you need to
swing a Louie3 TRUE CENTER from Louisville Golf. Currently available
only in right hand, for about one hundred and twenty five dollars
you can order one from www.LouisvilleGolf.com.
