Trainer Putter

Never
Over, Never In
David A. Dodson
There's
an old saying in golf, "the difference between an amateur
and a pro becomes more evident the closer they get to the hole."
The point is, you may drive the ball like the boys on TV, but
until you learn to handle a putter you'll never post the scores
that they do. Ask most any golfer where he or she gives the most
strokes away and time and again you'll hear "on the green".
Putting is hard to master, especially without professional help.
How can the average golfer tell if he's lining up correctly without
paying a pro to stand there and watch? Luckily for us, the short
game gurus at RMG Sports Direct feel your pain and have responded
with the Eye Trainer Putter, the only putter on the market designed
to help you attain the perfect ball address so crucial to proper
putting.
Most bad
puts can be traced back to when you first square up for the shot.
If you aren't right over the ball, then your putter can't achieve
the pendulum motion that it was designed for. Without a proper
pendulum swing arc, the ball doesn't stand much of a chance of
going straight. That's where the Eye Trainer Putter comes in handy.
With its Patent-Pending Eye-Bridge, you can easily tell when you
are directly over the stroke path, resulting in straighter, more
predictable puts.
Sound
theory or just a lot of sound? This one seems to be on the level.
With the double-alignment guide on the Eye-Bridge, it was easy
to tell if I was centered over the ball; I just lined up the notches
on the guide and it went exactly where I aimed. In one round I
was able to shave about eight strokes off of my putting alone.
I also like the feel of the Eye Trainer. Made from soft 304 stainless
steel, the Eye Trainer has an excellent feel and perfect balance.
The double milled face also has a surprisingly easy touch on the
ball. And for you lazy types, it also has a Hole-In-The-Sole design
that lets you pick up the ball out of the cup without bending
over.
But is
it legal? Though designed to be a training tool, the Eye Trainer
putter does conform to the USGA's Rules of Golf once the Eye Bridge
is removed via three allen screws (wrench included). So you can
practice all you want with it and not worry about having to get
use to another putter when you actually play.
Bottom
line is if you are looking for an easy, effective way to help
your short game, then the Eye Trainer putter is the way to go.
Available in right and left handed models, for about one hundred
and fifty dollars you can order one by calling 1-888-924-PUTT,
